- "My Summer vacation + a lie", this to get an idea of creative writing skills;
- Looking at two short stories, "A Night Out" and "A Three Piece Suit", comparing the characters or settings. This was to see how well you write essays.
- Then we started working on the concept of Protest- I'll write more about that after.
- We also started the book "To Kill a Mockingbird"- This works with the protest unit in terms of speaking to the guiding question: "What is worth fighting for?"
We are faced with a changing world that constantly presents new challenges. This course has been designed to be challenging, not only technically but also in terms of subject matter. We will engage in learning, overcome obstacles and share ideas and observations to prepare us for graduation in 2011.

English: the month of September
The first month school was spent getting a "baseline" for all of you; basically seeing what your skills were, gaging your strengths and weaknesses. The list of assignments included:
